More film making

Early June 2009: Bec meets Dick Marks, soon to become our wonderful guide and mentor.  Bec escapes for a well-earned rest to the Gold Coast.

13 June 2009: First rehearsal for the song “Zombie Pride” held at the Alley Cat with Craig Wood as Musical Director.

23 June 2009: Bec and Rogan meet with Brenda Hampson from RE/MAX Properties, Sandy Bay. Brenda loves the idea of a zombie lesbian musical so much she pledges $2500 to help fund the film!

27 June 2009: Second rehearsal of the zombie chorus.  Zombie Cabaret Fundraiser held at the Alley Cat.  The evening is a rousing success raising $1550 for the cause.

July 2009: Bec and Rogan meet with Dick Marks who inspires them to greater heights, websites, brochures... But progress slows due to Rogan’s involvement as Production Manager of Mainstage’s Seussical, and many of the cast and crew become involved in other major (and minor) theatre and film projects. The film is now titled Zombie Lesbian Musical.

Aug 2009: We bite the bullet and set the shoot dates, finally get the brochure together and launch the website. The film is renamed Cupcake - A Zombie Lesbian Musical.

22/23 Aug 2009: Bec and Rogan meet Peter and Michael Spierig who wrote and directed Undead and Daybreakers (released in Oz, Jan 2010).  Bec wears her bright orange top and knee-length boots and gets lots of offers (of equipment for the film, of course!!!)

The rest is history in the making...
