Rebecca Thomson  Writer and Director

Rebecca’s film-making skills are well-recognised.  Rufus, which she wrote and directed, won the Wide Angle Tasmania Judges’ Award for Tropfest 2009, and has been selected into the Melbourne Underground Film Festival (MUFF). Her film Hammerhead - A Love Story  was a prize winner in the 2006 Hobart Fringe Festival, and was also chosen for an exhibition of Tasmanian short films at the TAP Gallery in Sydney.


Helen Edwards is Agnes

Helen first appeared on stage 52 years ago with Devonport Repertory Society. Since then she has had many roles - some of her favourites being Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing, the General in Guys and

Guys and Dolls and Ouiser in Steel Magnolias. She has been involved in many TV commercials, several short films and docos. Helen appeared in Hobart Rep's production of Barbecue, and also appeared in the feature film Arctic Blast.

Pip Tyrrell is Mauva

Pip is another of Hobart's most versatile stage performers. She has been in too many shows to mention but in 2010 she appeared in a number of shows back to back: A Woman of No Importance,  Diamond

Nickers 60th Anniver­sary, The One Act Festival, Beauty and the Beast, Stepping Out and Brassed Off - an amazing achievement by anybody's standards. Pip is excited to be involved in a new adventure into film.  


Rogan Brown Producer

Rogan has had over 25 years’ experience in theatre production and management, and has trod the boards more than a few times. In the last five years, he has branched out into film and television, mainly in front of the camera. He appeared in Mark Joseph’s film promising in 2006 as Mr Smith, a tired and disgruntled teacher.  But he is probably best known as the RACT man lovingly stroking a shiny red car in the “Win a Mazda” campaign (2007-8). He was Chairman of Mainstage Theatre Company in Hobart, and was Manager for their production of Seussical the Musical. He appeared as a frost-bitten fisherman in Arctic Blast.  


Rose has performed in a number of award-winning productions, including The Shadowers by Monica Tichacek which won the 2006 Anne Landa Award. She stage managed The Master Builder (Soaring Arc Productions and IHOS, Sydney, 2004), and appeared in Heart, which won the Best Documentary award at the Melbourne International Film Festival in 2008.




Anna started performing at a very young age and is a talented singer and dancer. She has most recently appeared in Elegies, Eurobeat and Miss Saigon. In 2008, she completed her Music Theatre degree and in 2006, won the Conservatorium’s prestigious Director's Prize. Anna loves sequins, lycra and pumping her junk, so is thrilled to be able to indulge all three of her vices in CUPCAKE!
